Why verification is required
Client platforms may need to confirm identity, age, address, eligibility, and risk information to prevent fraud, protect accounts, and meet contractual or legal compliance requirements. This can include KYC, AML, sanctions, politically exposed person, and document-authenticity checks.
Who is involved
Determines why verification is required and makes the final decision.
Builds or supports the technical workflow and generally processes applicant data under the client’s instructions.
Provides identity verification technology, performs configured checks, and returns verification results or risk indicators.
What happens
- The verification flow identifies the relevant service and displays applicable privacy information.
- You review the notices and take a clear affirmative action where acknowledgement or consent is required.
- You provide requested documents, images, video, or information through the secure verification interface.
- The authorised verification provider performs configured checks and returns results or risk indicators.
- The applicable client service or authorised reviewer makes the final onboarding or account decision.
Do not email identity documents to Cherry unless you are specifically instructed to use an approved secure process.
Data that may be processed
Depending on the checks selected, data may include identity and contact details, government-issued document images and data, selfies or video, facial geometry or other biometric data, liveness information, device and network data, sanctions or risk-screening results, and verification outcomes.
Your choices and review requests
You may choose not to submit requested data, but the applicable service may then be unable to complete onboarding or continue an account. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, withdraw consent, or request human review. The applicable client service is normally the first point of contact for an onboarding decision.
